5 back-to-school prayers for moms!

It's so hard to admit without tearing up a little (or a lot!) but our kiddos head back to school on Monday.  It's truly my least favorite day of the year!  I'm not sure what makes it so hard.  Maybe I'm just not good with change and the start of a school year brings about all kinds of changes.

And to add to my anxiety level, this year our oldest will head off to high school!  How in the heck did that happen?!  I swear it feels like he was just in Kindergarten!  And, it isn't so much the thought of having a high school student, it's the realization that we only have four, count them FOUR more years to teach him everything we want/need him to know.  That's a little daunting!

Thankfully our middlest will continue at the school she attended last year and will enjoy everything that comes with being the oldest on campus.  Meanwhile, the baby will start Kindergarten.  Cue all the tears.  Heck, I even cried at Meet the Teacher!  I don't even want to think about the mess that I will be come Monday morning.

But, with all the excitement, new opportunities, and changes comes LOTS of extra time for prayer.  Today I'm sharing a few prayers that I came across that are perfect for the first day of school, the second day of school, and every day after that!

change, chaos, and all the feels!

To say I've been MIA around the blogosphere lately would be an understatement!  I looked back and it appears I've only posted three times in the last month.  What could keep me from something that I love so much?  Hmmm...  lots of changes, lots of chaos, and all the feels!

Road Trip Ready - a Beach Bucket List!

Later today our family will be loading up and hitting the road!  Destination?  The Gulf Coast of Texas!  I can't wait to feel the sun on my face and the sand in my toes!  And, because I LOVE a good bucket list, I created a Beach Bucket List so that we were reminded to not waste any fun!

while I waited...week 29

Phew!  Another fun-filled and packed week of summer!  Colby wrapped up his last week of Strength and Conditioning camp, Holden attended an art camp each morning, Colby had Wrangler boot camp each evening, and Hope had Hip Hop camp each evening as well.  Lots and lots of trips into town!  The big kids leave for camp today and Hope can't wait for a special date night this week!  Since I knew we were going to be dropping off kiddos, our week in review only goes through Saturday.  Be prepared for a ton of pictures from camp in next week's post! ;)  Here's what I did last week while I waited...

while I waited...week 28 - carpools & Pokemons

While I'm Waiting...while I waited week 28
I can describe last week in two words - carpools and Pokemons!  This week the kids have been involved in Strength and Conditioning camp, Creative Arts camp, multiple dance practices, we've volunteered at a couple of places, and Holden ended the week with a camp performance.  I counted up and between Monday and Friday I made 17, yes SEVENTEEN, trips into town.  And, this doesn't include the four trips Mike made, four trips that a sitter made, and five trips that Shelly made.  Thank goodness for carpools! Oh, and there was LOTS of Pokemon-ing in between!!!  Here's a look back at our crazy week and what I did while I waited...

Why I'm ok with my son playing Pokemon Go

What's the big deal about Pokemon Go?!
Are your kids crazy about Pokemon Go?  Heck, I know a couple of moms who are hooked!  Exactly what IS Pokemon Go you might ask?  Well, according to my go-to dictionary, Wikipedia describes it as follows:

Pokemon Go is a free-to-play location-based augmented reality mobile game, developed by Niantic and published by The Pokemon Company as part of the Pokemon franchise.  It was released worldwide in July 2016 for iOS and Android devices.

The game allows players to capture, battle, and train virtual Pokemon who appear throughout the real world.  It makes use of GPS and the camera of compatible devices.

So, what do I know about Pokemon Go?  Absolutely nothing except for one thing...if you want HOURS of time with your teen son, get him to download it immediately (I'm guessing he probably already has it downloaded!).
